BVI Yacht Sales Overview

When you look at boats for sale, there seems to be a wide range of prices for the same model and age, or type of boat.  Its tempting to look at the bottom end of the range, in search of ‘the best deal’. Indeed for the hands on do-it-yourself sort of buyer, perhaps in their 30’s and still interested in working late nights week after week on their ‘new’ boat, a good deal can be had that way… but we have found over many decades of selling boats that the real best deals come in finding boats that are in exceptional condition, thoughtfully and expertly outfitted.
Boat owners with deep pockets and a demand for perfection, who understand that they will never recover the costs of their boats, but don’t care as they just want to sail the boat they want to sail, and have it be perfect in every way for their needs and adventures, are the ones to buy boats from.  The average boat buyer comes at the process looking from the bottom, but the smart boat buyer starts from the top and looks for a boat with upgrades, equipment and care that surpass in value the price being asked for the boat.
S/V ‘Demeter’ is one of these properly outfitted and properly maintained boats, perhaps the nicest examples of the Amphitrite Ketch that you will find and likely one of the nicest cruising boats in her price range available anywhere, not just already here in the Caribbean.  If you want a real cruising boat, ready to go right now, step onboard.
As ‘Fatty’ Goodlander recent commented “Amphitrite 43s are highly sought after vessels. I have checked out many during both my first and second circumnavigation aboard this wonderfully commodious, well-traveled offshore design. The very best of these stout vessels is Demeter.  Ted [the owner] is one of the best ship’s husbands I know. If you are looking for a safe, strong, seaworthy vessel for tradewind sailing and living aboard, you’d be hard pressed to do better.”

The vessel was purchased by very experienced boat owners as they transitioned from weekend racing and cruising to a full time live-aboard and cruising lifestyle in 2011.  Undergoing an extensive refit and upgrade for a voyaging adventure, she received new wiring, new major systems, new chainplates, and on and on…. and over the intervening years of cruising she has had continual upgrades to her current culmination as a fully outfitted and exceptionally reliable cruising sailboat.
Outfitted with relatively new Quantum Sails, new standing rigging, 900 watts of solar, dinghy davits, large rigid frame bimini top with enclosure,  high performance 12 volt watermaker, air-conditioning, and so much more, you will not find another Amphitrite with her level of outfitting or attention to detail paid, or any other cruising boat in even remotely similar price range.
There are few boats for sale right now that have this type of lavish care dealt upon them on such a regular basis and you must see this boat to believe how nice she really is.
