Description

Hunter IV is a 2004 Hunter Passage 456 located at Nanny Cay, Tortola BVI. This 45ft sailboat features a two-cabin, two-head layout with an enormous aft cabin and centerline queen berth. It includes electric furling for both the main and genoa. The boat shows exceptionally well due to light use. Her first 5 years of use were exclusively in freshwater. Her single and only owner has maintained her well recently cruising in the BVI. Her fully closed cockpit canvas is in excellent condition and offers great protection from sun and rain. Never chartered, she is powered by a Yanmar 75hp engine with 1,494 hours. Her 4kw Generator shows 625hrs.

Key equipment highlights include updated Raymarine electronics, featuring 2 Axiom chartplotters, multiple I70 repeaters, and autopilot for navigation. The vessel is also equipped with a 12v watermaker, bow thruster, air conditioning, and generator.

Hunter IV fell over on land in Hurricane Irma many years ago, and sustained damage to her hull and keel (one keel fin is currently bent) the owners declare that this has no effect on her sailing or use. The brokers recently surveyed with another buyer and will discuss findings in detail with potential buyers, however most findings are being attended to immediately in keeping with the vessels consistently excellent care. The mast and rigging were replaced in 2019, and the sails were updated in 2019 and 2020 with a 130% Quantum genoa and a main sail from Quantum. Easy to use rigging with all controls from the cockpit make the boat simple to sail.

This vessel is ready for continued enjoyment in the Caribbean or beyond.

Owners Comments and Boat History

Purchased new by her current and only owner direct from the factory, Hunter IV, formerly named Zenato, was sailed on Lake Champlain for the first 5 years of her life. After this the owner brought her to the Caribbean and began winter cruises. Keeping the boat always under professional yacht management and stored on the hard every summer. Based predominantly at Nanny Cay in the BVI the boat has benefitted from excellent care. In 2017 while in storage on the hard she suffered some damage from hurricane Irma. The mast was broken and a small hole from the dinghy was made in the hull. All the repairs were covered under insurance and were made to the highest standards. A new mast with all new rigging was installed including electric furling. The boat has continued to be sailed each winter and additionally improvements and updates have been made. The sellers have decided it is once again time for a new boat and are upgrading to a larger cruising boat..
