1985 Cookson Frers Kevlar/Carbon Custom 43 ‘Jaguar’

‘Jaguar’ represents a unique opportunity to own a very much loved and cared for, and continually upgraded,  thoroughbred race boat optimized to compete under the IRC rule and also the CSA rule. She was designed by Frers and Nelson Marek , and built in New Zealand at Cookson Boats , of Carbon Fibre and Kevlar with a Nomex core, the intention was to race in the Admirals Cup. She completed in two Sydney Hobart races, coming in the top 10 position both times.
The present owner has successfully raced her in the Caribbean over the past several years wining her class multiple times. Within the last two years alone she has had an extensive rebuild, in order to  refresh the flooring ; a the V-drive transmission rebuilt;  had her mast removed , sand blasted and refinished with black Awlgrip; renewed the standing rod rigging ; overhauled to entire hydraulic system; refinished the deck and topsides also with Awlgrip; and also added internal ballast to optimize the performance.
