BVI Yacht Sales Overview

1974 Nautor 44′ Swan 44 ‘South Wind’

The Swan 44 typifies what many consider to be the best of the classic Swan attributes and remains to this day a sought after vessel for both racing and cruising, Her seakindly hull and comfortable/practical interior layout make her a joy to sail. With narrow sheeting angles and deep draft, this is a boat that will go to windward like almost no others. And if you want to take her cruising, there is a lot of space below for stores and additional tankage and because Swans of this era where built so strongly, you can sail a vessel like this almost anywhere your heart desires. High latitudes? Around the world against tradewinds? Upwind to South Africa? You name the destination and the Swan 44 can take you there.

This particular Swan was seasonally sailed out of Tortola BVI for the last 20 years and has spent summers hauled out. in 2017 she was stored on land when Hurricane Irma came though and flying debris took the mast down and damaged the stern pulpit and several stanchions which have not yet been replaced. The owners have since then replaced the mast with a new carbon fiber mast and new rod rigging. The engine is reported to be in good working order and the decks are fiberglass.
