BVI Yacht Sales Overview

At home on the high seas. This Hanse 455 ‘Way Out’ has everything you could expect from a perfect cruising yacht. Why? Her lines are the creation of Judel/Vrolijk & co, the best and most experienced yacht designers in the world. This guarantees that she is fast, easy and safe to sail wether you are island hopping the Caribbean or crossing oceans.
Hanse’s are well known for being fast, well built cruisers and for ease of handling. They stand out from many other high volume production boats in their solid construction, with hand laid fibreglass and glassed in bulkheads providing for a very stiff hull and intelligent, proven design. Their Selden rigging system, with self tacking headsail and all lines leading to the twin helms, makes for easy short-handed sailing while delivering exceptional performance.

The owners of ‘Way Out’ have spared no expense on maintenance and extensively upgraded her to accommodate a comfortable cruising lifestyle while on board. Fully equipped with 8kW generator, (4) 100W solar panels, watermaker, retractable bow thruster, electric winches and only 50 hrs on the 53hp Volvo-Penta engine. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to get this beautiful, NEVER CHARTERED Hanse 455 priced well below market value for a prompt sale!

You will not find a better equipped, NEVER CHARTERED Hanse 455 anywhere on the market today. ‘Way Out’ sustained minor damage from Hurricane Irma and the owners went above and beyond and had everything professionally repaired or replaced with factory parts by the Hanse dealer here in Nanny Cay Marina. ‘Way Out’ still retains the look, feel and smell of a brand new Hanse 455!

As you step down the companionway staircase you are greeted with a well lit salon thanks to the four hatches above six others around the saloon alone. This Hanse 455s well-decorated interior, Italian Oak and leather upholstery makes one feel right at home. With lighting control buttons located at convenient places, LEDs come on and go off at the push of a button, creating the perfect environment be it day or night.

To starboard the L-Shaped galley features ample storage and does its bit in adding to the comfort of the owners and guests alike. Double stainless sink with inserts to add to the already ample counter space. The large top & front loading fridge has plenty of room for provisions as well as a custom fit ‘Vitrifrigo’ drawer freezer that will keep your ice cream rock solid. A rare commodity on a sailboat! The clever design of the stove top cover adds to the counter space when the stove is not in use and conveniently slides down behind when ready to cook.

The well thought out saloon features leather cushions surrounding the saloon center table with its elegant U-Shaped seating area as well as a centerline bench seat. To port we have the nav station accompanied by a L-shaped settee seating with matching leather upholstery.

The owners suite is forward with a center line double ‘island’ berth with side-by-side overhead hatches that will ensure plenty of ventilation on a hot day and custom fitted with fly screens. One signature feature of this suite is it’s fairly large space and availability of lockers, cupboards, and drawers for proper storage so that it becomes easy for you to feel right at home. It also features an ensuite head on port side with separate ensuite shower on starboard side.

Moving aft of the saloon we will find the aft quarter berth cabins on either side of the insulated engine room, featuring mirror image win double bunks with custom deluxe mattresses. Climate control, hanging lockers, reading lights and shades on all hatches.

On deck you’ll find plenty of room for trimming sails or lounging about. The Hanse 455’s cockpit is large enough that it can accommodate a good-sized folding table and still be easy to get around. All sheets and halyards are led aft to the twin helms, and each helm has a large dedicated bench seat well forward of the split backstay.

Practical options abound, including retracting mooring cleats, primary electric Lewmar winches positioned where you can work them easily from the wheel, a handy slide-away companionway hatch and a massive sail locker accessed through an overhead hatch in the foredeck. Especially fun are the cockpit sink under the portside helm seat and a grill under the helm seat to starboard. Both can be tended with ease, either from the cockpit or from the very large drop-down swim platform. A low bulwark/toe rail provides added security moving forward.

‘Way Out’ has enjoyed a short but exciting life. The owners worked directly with Hanse to design and custom build this yacht. She was bought NEW in Annapolis where she began a journey in early 2017. They then sailed south to the Virgin Islands where the owners put her in summer storage in Nanny Cay Marina where shortly after she was struck by Hurricane Irma. She was one of the lucky ones that did not sink but did lose her rig and fell into another boat. None of the damage was structural and the owners worked with the insurance company for a proper pay out and poured all of the money and some back into their beloved Hanse. The restoration included All new Selden rig, rigging, new stanchions, pulpit & pushpit, new factory interior wood work, new electronics inside and out and a full Awlgrip respray. All parts came directly from Hanse and were installed by the Hanse dealer here in Nanny Cay Marina. Even after all of this she looks, feels and even smells like a brand new boat! Very knowledgeable owners have taken exceptional care of her and added some very well thought out touches.
