BVI Yacht Sales Overview
The Sea Ray 500 Sundancer is designed for serious cruising in uncompromised comfort. The sleek profile is very impressive and continues throughout the spacious cockpit, helm and modern interior. While some updated electronics will be necessary the owner has chosen to leave this up to the new owners preference and has priced the vessel to offset this cost. The cabin is equipped with a luxurious two stateroom layout with en-suite heads, large salon for entertaining guests, and well-appointed galley with plenty of storage.
‘Cruzan’ was kept in heated storage in Ohio, USA from the fall of 2007, and it was there until fall of 2011. In 2008, both engines were fully rebuilt (about $40,000)? This was a fresh water boat until the vessel was shipped to the Virgin Islands in the fall of 2011 by Dockwise Yacht Shipping. Prior to shipping, the vessel had about $5000 worth of work done – all new batteries, all raw water hoses replaced, cockpit drains, two or bilge pumps replaced, engine room hatch air cylinders replaced. Since then she has been kept on the hard in St Croix when not in use.
She is a well-kept example of a 500 Sundancer with many recent upgrades including new cockpit canvas enclosure (2019) new dashboard with all new switches and gagues (2019) and a full rebuild of her pair of 550HP Detroit Diesel Detroit 6V-92’s with only 100 hrs currently on them.
‘Cruzan’ is fresh on the market and priced for a prompt sale!
Vessel Walkthrough
The cockpit features a raised helm station with an adjustable captain’s chair that faces the wrap-around instrument console and a side companion bench. Facing aft is a wet bar and built-in curved lounge seating with a large cockpit table with plenty of room for entertaining guests while out on the water. All is enclosed with a bimini top with vinyl windows and an aft curtain at the transom door that leads to a swim platform fresh water wash down and a cable master that feeds the shore power cord.
Passing through the companionway a few steps down brings you to the main wide open salon that has a full entertainment center, washer dryer combination. A generous U-shaped large sofa sits aft with a round cocktail table. The well functioning galley sits starboard amidship with a full sized refrigerator electric stove, microwave, coffee pot, trash compactor and a hot and cold-water sink. The owners have provided a bit of whimsical art inlay on the mirror behind the sofa and another in the galley area that provides an upscale look.
Across the galley to port is the guest stateroom with a lower double berth and top twin bunk, TV, hanging locker and private access to the head that can also be accessed through the saloon as well with a vacu-flush marine toilet; hot and cold water sink and stall shower.
The entry to a master stateroom forward brings you into a deceivingly large room for an express design. A raised large queen berth sits portside to allow for generous walk around space. Plenty of storage and a hanging locker. The ensuite features a separate vanity, head and stall shower.
‘Cruzan’ could use some updated electronics (TV’s still have VCR’s) but has been well maintained over the years. Turnkey and ready for her new owners.
