BVI Yacht Sales Overview

2008 Jeanneau Sun Oddyssey 54DS

‘Cadence’

This fine example of a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 54DS was built in 2007 and commissioned in 2008. Never chartered, no hurricane history, professionally skippered and maintained since NEW. ‘Cadence’ looks great on the water with her recent dark blue Awlgrip paint job (2019), teak decks and furling sails by Quantom. She is powered by a Yanmar 110hp turbocharged diesel engine that is in great condition and even has a bow thruster for docking with ease. The NEW Onan 9kw diesel generator keeps the air conditioning blowing cold and the batteries topped up when not at the dock. ‘Cadence’ is ready to take you and your loved ones to far corners of the world in comfort, safety and style!

Fully equipped, including: Air Conditioning throughout the vessel, NEW Generator 2018, Bow Thruster, Electric winches, Updated electronics, Underwater lights, NEW Radar, In-Mast Furling Mainsail, Spinnaker, Watermaker, Ice maker, SS Dinghy Davits, NEW Dinghy, Cockpit and deck cushions, Dodger/Bimini and much more!
Recent upgrades in the last 2 years alone!:

  • NEW Cummins Onan 9kW Marine Generator 2018 (1485hrs)
  • Beautiful New Dark Blue Awlgrip Paint Job on the hull 2019
  • (2) NEW Raymarine Axiom 12″ Touchscreen Chartplotters in cockpit and Nav Station 2020
  • NEW Raymarine Quantum Chirp Radar 2020
  • NEW Lewmar Windlass 2020
  • NEW AB Dinghy w/ Nissan Marine 30hp 2019
  • NEW Mastervolt 50 volt inverter Charger 2019

The spacious interior is bright and cheerful with great condition cream colored ultra-leather upholstery in the saloon. The highly sought after ‘Deck Saloon’ models have a floor plan extending all the way out to the hull sides, taking advantage of the almost 16′ beam and offering an incredible amount of interior volume. The large saloon windows flood the interior with light that also feature built in shades. This clever design allows one to see through the pilothouse windows while standing in the saloon, and through windows in the hull sides when seated.

The main saloon has a large dinette to starboard with ample seating, a magnificent teak table with folding leafs and two movable chairs inboard that have the ability to be secured to the floor while out sailing. Opposite is a C shaped settee with seating for 4+ divided by a cupboard with built in icemaker and it’s own cocktail table for afternoon cocktails or morning coffee in the comfort of the climate controlled saloon.

The U shaped galley has been very well throughout and is aft to port, one step down from the saloon. Ample storage and counter space throughout as well as plenty of room in the top loading freezer and front opening fridge for all the essentials be it an ocean passage or extended charter. Another notable feature of the galley is the stainless steel bar in front of the gimbaled stove/work area that acts as both a grabrail and a fender, depending on which tack you are on. Next to the double SS sink is a deep draining locker to retain newly washed dishes while under way. A large vented hood above the stove top keeps the chef cool. Jeanneau was even clever enough to incorporate matching covers for the sink and one for the stove that simply slides back behind the stove, adding tremendous counter space when not in use. Three taps are available at the SS double sink; H & C pressure water, raw (salt) water foot pump tap as well as a filtered drinking water tap. Trash locker, ample drawers and lockers–this truly is a dream live-aboard Galley!

Adjacent to the Galley you will find the large Navigation station with everything you need at an arm’s reach. Have a seat in the upgraded captains chair and you have full access to the NEW Raymarine Axim 12″ Touchscreen Chertplotter, VHF, AIS receiver, SatPhone, AC & DC switch panel, battery voltage monitors/charger/inverter, Start panel for the NEW Onan Genset and more.
This three-cabin layout features the master stateroom forward with a centreline queen size ‘island berth’, en-suite head w/ shower, hanging lockers and even a vanity built into the suite cabinetry. The two mirror image cabins aft, also feature en suite heads generous queen+ berths that are so big that you could sleep facing any direction you like. The center piece can also be removed making the bed into two double berths. Both cabins also equipped with hanging lockers and all three heads in the main cabins are equipped with ‘Quietflush’ toilets.

There is even a crew/skipper quarters forward that you can access from the forward hatch on deck. Would be perfect for kids or to give your teenager their privacy. Room for 2 to sleep, head, sink and an added luxury of an AC vent. Or use it for storage to store sails, lines dive gear etc.

‘Cadence’ would be the perfect yacht for a large family ready to get out and see the world or a crewed charter yacht that can comfortably accommodate a captain, chef & 6 guests.

‘Cadence’ features beautiful teak decks and toe rail accented nicely by large polished stainless steel cleats and dock line guides. The NEW Lewmar windlass has an up/down controller on deck as well as a remote chain counter/controller at the helm. The 24v bow Thruster is also easily controlled from the cockpit as well. Her mast is supported by three sets of angled spreaders with discontinuous diagonals and single lowers. The backstay is split from the masthead rather than a lower split which can intrude on the helmsman’s space. The furling headsail and mainsail are easily controlled with the electric winches from the cockpit with no need to go on deck while under way unless you want to fly the spinnaker!

‘Cadence’ is a breeze to sail with all lines led back to the cockpit and can be controlled by (3/4 electric 1 manual) Harken winches and full Harken hardware package. You can even trim the head sail with the adjustable jib sheet cars from the cockpit with ease.

The cockpit exists on two levels with 3 areas. Ample seating for 8+ around the centerline cockpit table has a built in cooler and folding leafs allowing plenty of room for dining or entertaining guests in the cockpit. In addition to the cockpit seating area; either side of the companionway access there are lounge areas great for taking naps when not on watch during long passages at sea.

The aft helm area allows the helmsman to access everything including the electric sheet winches, chartplotter, autopilot, VHF, windlass control/chain counter and just about anything you may need while underway.  With a touch of a button on the autopilot, you can simply tell the boat to tack and the helmsman can single handedly ease one sheet, take in the other with the electric winches right at the helm. All without disturbing his guests enjoying lunch or asleep under way.
There’s a walk through to a large swim platform where the dinghy is easily boarded and the swim ladder tucks inconspicuously underneath the sugar scoop step. ?Cadence? also features a sleek, stainless steel stern arch with built in dinghy davits, flood lights, rod holders. Currently supporting KVH TracVision & TracFone domes but would also make for a great platform for a nice solar panel panel array.
