Description

Sowilo is a 2020 Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 Owners Version, offered for sale by her third private owner and never chartered. She is immaculately maintained and fully equipped for serious bluewater or off-grid cruising, with a thoughtfully upgraded systems suite including solar, lithium batteries, dual watermakers, and more. The layout is the highly sought-after “Maestro” version featuring a spacious owner’s hull to starboard with a king-size bed, generous storage, a walk-in shower, and a private head. The port hull includes two queen-size guest cabins, each with en-suite bathrooms — one featuring a separate shower and the other a combined wet head.

The saloon offers 360° views, ample natural light, and a full nav station with integrated systems monitoring. A U-shaped galley is well-appointed with a large countertop, three independent fridge/freezer units, gas oven, stovetop, and additional cooking appliances including a pizza oven, plancha grill, and air fryer. The cockpit is shaded and spacious, with wraparound seating, a cockpit table, and access to both the helm and top deck, which offers dual sunloungers and panoramic views. A forward cockpit and large trampolines complete the exterior lounging areas.

Sowilo is equipped for energy independence and comfort, with 1,300 watts of solar, a Victron lithium house bank, a Victron Multiplus inverter/charger, Cerbo GX monitoring system, and a 13.5kW Onan generator. Electrical systems are based around 240V/50Hz AC and 12V DC, and include a shore transformer for worldwide compatibility. The vessel has air conditioning throughout, a small washing machine, and a full suite of Victron and Garmin electronics including autopilot, radar, AIS, and multiple MFDs.

Propulsion comes from twin Volvo D2-50 diesel engines with saildrives, complemented by a new Yamaha 25HP outboard on the tender. Recent upgrades include new anchor chain, trampoline, and various system services (generator, watermakers, engines). A wide array of tools, spares, safety gear, galleyware, and cruising equipment are included, making this a truly turn-key vessel.

Sowilo is currently stored on the hard in Antigua and is priced at $529,000. She is ideal for a couple or family seeking an immediately available, ocean-ready cruising catamaran. ďťżOwners Comments and Boat History

Having sailed on an older Fountaine Pajot in previous seasons, we fell in love with the design and decided to treat ourselves with a newer model for the 24/25 Caribbean season. The Astrea 42 owners version fitted all our criteria for living onboard as a small family in a compact yet spacious design.

Sowilo comes set up with all the amenities to live off-grid in style and comfort, including full solar power set up, large generator 11kva perfect for charging batteries on cloudy rainy days and to run aircons when needed; plenty fridge/freezer space for easy provisioning to spend extended time in remote and quiet anchorages; 2x water makers for glorious long showers, Starlink for online schooling and staying connected, ample space and headroom in saloon and cockpit for comfortable relaxed living and entertaining. The additional forward seating area is perfect to catch the cooling breeze while sipping sundowners. And the top-deck sun-loungers are great for relaxing and sunbathing in ones own space.

The swim platform (dinghy lift) is a convenient feature for easy access between boat and water while on anchor, perfect for diving, snorkelling and other water sports. It also makes loading goods in and off the dingy a breeze.

Sowilo is very easy to sail single handed if needed or great fun for two, with all lines leading to the spacious helm which comfortably accommodates 2-3 people under sail.

Sowilo comes fully set up with an easily accessed tool and spares cupboard containing everything needed for all running repairs and maintenance.

The galley has plenty of storage space and comes fully set-up with all cooking ware.

Sowilo is perfectly set-up for coastal cruising or long-term blue water cruising.

We are the third owners from new, never been chartered. We cruised the Caribbean chain for 2 seasons. Boat is currently stored on the hard in North Sound Marine, Antigua.
