Description

Astrid is a Beneteau Cyclades 50, a proven bluewater cruiser with space and comfort at sea as the main focus of her design. Purchased new by the current owner, she is in excellent condition.

The Beneteau Cyclades 50 is a remarkably capable bluewater sailing yacht that blends offshore performance with exceptional volume, comfort, and reliability. Designed by Berret–Racoupeau and built by Beneteau, this model has earned a strong reputation worldwide as a robust, go-anywhere cruising platform equally suited for extended ocean passages, liveaboard life, or crewed charter operations.

With her solid fiberglass hull, moderate displacement, and well-balanced sail plan, Astrid delivers a reassuring motion at sea and predictable handling across a wide range of conditions. Her hull form provides excellent directional stability and efficiency under sail, making long passages comfortable and confidence-inspiring. The deck layout is practical and secure, featuring wide side decks, strong lifelines, ample handholds, and a spacious cockpit designed for both offshore safety and relaxed socializing at anchor.

Below deck, Astrid truly shines. The interior is bright, open, and exceptionally spacious for a yacht of her class. Thoughtful design allows for generous headroom, abundant natural light, and outstanding ventilation throughout. She features four comfortable guest cabins, each with its own en suite head and shower, as well as separate captain’s quarters with a private head. She sleeps nine comfortably, making her ideal for large groups or family cruising. The saloon offers a welcoming living space for long-term cruising, while the functional galley is well suited for preparing meals underway or at anchor.

As a bluewater vessel, Astrid stands out for her simplicity, durability, and ease of maintenance. Systems are straightforward and accessible—an important advantage for owners planning offshore passages or extended time away from marinas. Her engineering reflects Beneteau’s long experience building ocean-capable yachts designed to be sailed and lived aboard with confidence.

Whether crossing oceans, island-hopping, or serving as a capable liveaboard cruiser, this Beneteau Cyclades 50 offers a compelling combination of size, seaworthiness, and value. Currently residing in St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, Astrid awaits her next adventure.

Accommodation

  • As you descend the companionway from the spacious cockpit, you are greeted by abundant natural light. Directly to port and starboard are two cabins, each with its own en suite head and shower. Midship to port is an open-concept galley with a fridge that doubles as an island which is part of a 7 foot center cabinet area that provides generous counter space. To starboard, a wraparound settee surrounds a large dining table that can be lowered to create an extra berth, with the well equipped navigation station just behind. Forward are two large cabins, each featuring private heads and showers, and at the bow, the captain’s quarters offer a spacious single bed with its own head with large storage areas throughout the vessel.
