Cape George Yachts founded by New Zealander Cecil Lange in 1974 is known for building hand crafted classics, timeless, bullet proof, and beautiful. This is a William Atkins design dating from the 1930s that was modified and adapted to fiberglass by Ed Monk. The hull for this vessel was laid up in 1985. It was then completed and commissioned for sea in 1990. Extensively rebuilt by builders at their yard in 2014 including a fiberglass/composite bulwark replacement, rudder pintles, refinishing cabin top, lots of new varnish and paint work, etc. She then sailed  to Sicily where current owners bought her in 2021.  Refit again for Trans-Atlantic and cruising, the vessel is now for sale due to a very unfortunate turn of events in the family. Sails and standing rigging replaced 2013. This vessel is well set up for extended voyaging with efficient systems designed for self sufficiency.
Presently berthed in the British Virgin Islands on the island of Tortola the vessel is ideally located to begin extended cruising in the Caribbean or beyond. The berthing can be extended to new owners affordably into the next year. As the listing broker I personally had the pleasure of sailing this vessel 250 nautical miles from the island of Dominica to Tortola, a passage of 36hrs. I can attest to her gentle sea keeping abilities and robust offshore systems. We are now very familiar with her features and equipment as well as the maintenance and repairs needed to make her perfect.
